Plan your vacation to the idyllic destinations of Manali, Leh and Ladakh and be ready to be transported to a world of misty mountains, woody forests and serene rivers. The 479 km long Leh Manali Highway and the arid cold desert that lies at a staggering altitude are going to leave you gasping for breath. On this tour, you will ride through high-altitude trails, including the world’s highest motorable road – Khardung La, as well as the Baralacha La Pass. Day 1 – New Delhi – Manali
Your expedition will start from Delhi and our team will pick you up from the Volvo pickup stand at 5 PM. Then board the bus for your journey to the backpackers’ town in Manali (560 km / 12 hrs).
Day 2 – Manali
After arriving Manali check-in in hotel after rest you will be introduced to the bikes and you can take a test ride and local sight-seen.
Day 3 – Manali – Keylong
After some healthy breakfast, start riding towards Keylong (140 km / 8 hrs) via Rohtang Pass (13,000 ft above sea level) – a connection between Kullu Valley with the Lahaul and Spiti Valleys of Himachal Pradesh. Enjoy the scenic views of these valleys, whose riverside and Himalayan mountain backdrop are sure to leave anyone breathless. Arriving at Jispa will be all for the first day of your trip from Manali. You will spend the night at Keylong in the hotel and lose yourself with a refreshing campfire under the stars.
Day 4 – Keylong – Sarchu
Have a delicious breakfast in the morning and head towards Pang, via Baralacha La Pass (16,500 ft) – the world’s third highest motorable pass. Pang is where you will really start to see those distinctive soil formations on the mountains and the mesmerizing colors of Ladakh will become more prominent just around Pang and onwards. En-route, you will get to see two marvelous lakes of Ladakh – Deepak Tal and Suraj Tal. Exuding a unique charm, Deepak Tal is a small manmade lake near Patseo, whereas Suraj Tal is the second highest lake in India and the 21st highest lake in the world. Arrive in Sarchu and stay overnight at the camp.
Day 5 – Sarchu – Leh
Start your ride from Sarchu to the dream destination of Leh (175 km / 7 hrs), crossing 22 Gata loops. Taglang La Pass in the Zanskar Range of mountains, situated at an altitude of 17,480 ft above sea level, is known to be the second highest mountain pass in Ladakh. On arrival at Leh, check in at the hotel and have a good night’s sleep.
Day 6 – Leh – Nubra
It is time to turn the adventure mode on as you proceed to Khardung La, also popularly known as K-top – the doorway to Shyok and Nubra valleys. It is the world’s highest motorable road according to BRO (Border Road Organization), which is sure to give you a ‘heart in the mouth’ condition! Khardung La also holds a very significant historical place, of being a major caravan route from Leh to Kashgar. Adventure enthusiasts and bikers from all over the world explore the pass with mountain biking, which is definitely a refreshing and memorable experience for a lifetime. Furthermore, you will ride towards Nubra Valley (160 km / 6 hrs). Arrive at Nubra Hunder and stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 7 – Nubra – Leh
Early morning after breakfast, go on to explore the beauty of Nubra Valley. The entire valley is a tourist destination in itself and there is nothing that isn’t worth laying your eyes on. Nubra is a tri-armed valley situated to the northeast of Ladakh valley and Diskit, the capital of Nubra is located at about 150 km north of Leh town. As per local scholars, the original name of the valley was Ldumra, which means the valley of flowers. In the evening return to Leh (160 km / 6 hrs) for a pleasant overnight stay.
Day 8 – Leh – Pangong
In the morning, you will start your ride to the stunning Pangong Tso Lake by a shared car (320 km / 10 hrs). The picturesque location where the climax scene of ‘3 Idiots’ was shot, Pangong Lake (14,000 ft and 130 km long) is an endorheic lake in the Himalayas and one of Asia’s largest brackish lakes. Beautifully changing colors from an ink blue to a turquoise to an aquamarine to a purple to other brilliant colors, just a glimpse of the lake is sure to take your breath away. Expanding to its broadest – 5 km width during winter, the lake gets completely frozen despite being saline water. In the evening, return to Leh and spend a good night at the hotel.
Day 9 – Pangong – Leh
After a filling breakfast in the morning, take a little ride around the lake and capture some lovely pictures. Then return to Leh (320 km / 10 hrs) and stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 10 – Leh – Sarchu
On this day, you will start your return journey towards Sarchu (250 km / 9 hrs) with a heavy heart. Reach Sarchu by evening and check in at the camp. Embrace the beautiful night with one last great campfire that would never fade away from your Leh memories.
Day 11 – Sarchu – Manali
Early morning, after a refreshing breakfast, you will start riding back towards Manali (222 km / 8-9 hrs). On arrival in Manali, check in at the hotel and bid goodbye to your best companion throughout the entire adventurous trip. Yes, it will be the end of motor biking. Stay overnight at the hotel.
Day 12 – Manali – New Delhi
The day is allotted for leisure and for exploring the beauty of Manali and nearby places. You can even shop for some souvenirs to take back home. In the evening, you will leave for Delhi by Volvo bus (560 km / 12 hrs).
